Frequently asked questions

  • We do not bill insurance companies; however, you'll receive receipts through email after each session and we encourage you to check your insurance plan for information on your options.

    Payment methods include:

    • Cash

    • All major credit cards

    • HSA/FSAW accounts (be sure to check your individual plan for more information on this.)

All session pricing can be found on the Services page.

  • One of the best tips you can give is a 5-star review and referral.

I am happy to serve you at my listed prices. It allows us to both relax without worrying about add-on fees or extra charges during your massage.

  • Great question! Everyone’s pain is different, which means that the pain may not go away on your first visit. The number of sessions varies depending on the severity, as do the techniques used. In cases of chronic pain, there is also long term maintenance to consider. Remember, it takes a while to create pain and it takes time to relieve it.

  • Cupping is great for so many issues. Our best answer to help you, is what it DOESN'T help with.

If you have a Liver or Kidney disorder, blood clotting disorder, are at risk of stroke or heart attack, it's best not to receive cupping. We also will not provide cupping if you're dealing with an infection. We can usually provide massage safely in the above cases without cupping.

If you have further questions regarding cupping and a specific condition, please contact us.

  • If you have an injury that requires a medical facility, we will follow the doctor's advice working around the injury. Most times a doctor will ask you to wait a short period of time before massage can be done on the actual area.

If you have an injury that does not require medical attention (such as a minor pull or strain), then give the area 48 hours to start the healing process. If it's bruising come in as you are able.

  • It is recommended to rest for at least 24 hours after a massage. This is so your body can acclimate to the changes made by the massage.
If you would like to work out on the same day as your session, doing so before your appointment is preferred.

  • All therapists are trained in providing prenatal and postpartum massage. That said, it is not our specialty. We would be happy to provide you with contact information for massage therapists who do specialize in prenatal services.

If you are pregnant or suspect you may be, please let us know so that we can accommodate you properly. There are some massage services (such as cupping) that are not advisable during pregnancy. You can review our privacy policy here.

Don’t be afraid to ask any questions you have! If your question isn’t addressed here, please contact Charlene.

Policies

I appreciate that you have chosen massage and bodywork needs. To provide the best service to my clients I have implemented the following policies:

CANCELLATION POLICY

I respectfully ask that you provide a 24-hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation requests. Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing 24-hour notice, I may not be able to fill that appointment time. This may be an inconvenience for me and other clients as they may have been able to book that spot. For this reason, I will need to charge 50% and full price for 2 hours or less. I require credit card on file for all clients so that appropriate fees may be charged if a late cancellation does occur.

I understand that emergencies can arise, and illnesses do occur at inopportune times. If you have a fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhea within 24 hours prior to your appointment time, I request that you cancel your session. Inclement weather may result in the need for late cancellations. I will do my best to give advanced notice if I need to close or need to cancel due to bad weather and ask that you do the same. Please do not risk your own safety trying to make it to your appointment. Late cancellations due to emergency, illness, or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed session charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

I request that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to fill out any required paperwork as well as answer any questions I may have (if you have not done so prior to scheduled appointment). I understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. However, I ask that you call to inform me if this ever occurs, so I can do my best to accommodate you. Appointment times are reserved for each client, so often times I cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late. For this reason, arriving after your appointment time may result in loss of time from your massage so that your session ends at your scheduled time. Full-service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival. In return I will do my best to be on time and if I am unable to do so, I will add time to your session to make up for my late arrival or adjust the service charge accordingly.

INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR POLICY

Massage therapy is for relaxation and therapeutic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation or request will result in immediate termination of your session and a refusal of any and all services in the future. You will be charged the full-service fee regardless of the length of your session. Depending on the behavior exhibited I may also file a report with the local authorities if necessary. Please treat me with dignity and respect and I will do the same in return. Effective communication is KEY to a great service, and I will do my part!
